Name-Emotion Association
You know how whenever you see someone’s name written down, you feel the emotions of your relationship with them?
If you really hate someone, you feel a slight anger when you see their name. When you get an email, IM or text from a co-worker, just seeing their name on the message stresses you out.
And then sometimes it’s by association; where a name is referring to something completely different, but you have a stronger association with that name, like today, when I read a news article that mentioned “Austin, Texas” and I felt a really warm and cuddly feeling.
